How my background in energy healing & Yoga enhances your therapy experience.

 

I have always had an interest in how energy healing can complement psychotherapy. Throughout my own healing journey, I have personally benefitted from healers trained in various modalities. Being highly empathic and clairsentient I needed additional tools to manage my own energy. Cognitive coping skills weren’t enough. To learn more about being empathic and/or clairsentient click here.

Some of those modalities have helped me immensely. As a result, I have chosen to study and develop these skills myself. Having studied and learned these techniques has allowed me to keep an open mind about the ways we heal. Every form of therapy or healing I practice I have once been the client having the same experience as you.

Reiki

The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei," meaning universal, and "ki," meaning life energy. It is based on the idea that a "universal life force energy" flows through all living beings, and when this energy is low or blocked, it can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalance or illness.

Reiki is an energy healing technique that works with the chakra system and energy centers of the body. It can be done remotely or in person. If a chakra is blocked or imbalanced, it can affect a person's health, emotions, or spiritual state. Reiki aims to restore harmony by clearing these blockages and balancing the energy.

I receive ongoing mentorship and skill development in Reiki monthly.


The Body Code

The Body Code is an energy healing/balancing system that was created by Dr. Brad Nelson, a holistic Chiropractor. You can read more about The Body Code here.

The Body Code uses our connection to our subconscious mind via muscle testing to allow for exploring six key areas associated with health.


Psych-K

Psych-K is a method of changing limiting beliefs using muscle testing and balances to create what is called a whole brain state. It helps us to identify beliefs that we hold that we want to change as well as create beliefs that we want to have. You can learn more about Psych-K here.

Psych- K can also be facilitated remotely and is just as effective as in-person sessions. I have been working with Psych-K as a client for years, and completed my training to use it with clients in 2022.

Yoga

I am a certified 200-hour yoga teacher (CYT) trained through Moonbow Yoga & Wellness, a Yoga Alliance–recognized program that integrates the traditional roots of Hatha yoga with modern movement science and accessible teaching practices. My training included an in-depth study of yoga history and philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras, as well as functional anatomy, breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and relaxation techniques.

I also developed skills in class sequencing, teaching methodology, and adapting postures with props to make yoga accessible for all bodies and experience levels. The program emphasized trauma-sensitive leadership, creativity, and ethical practices within the yoga profession, preparing teachers to lead safe, thoughtful, and meaningful classes.
